Responsible to: Production Manager

Hours: Monday to Friday: 0700-1530 or 1500-2300

Your Mission:

To support the business and production requirements by working flexibly across all areas of manufacturing.

You will ensure the highest quality at every stage of the process, from raw timber blanks to fully finished, compliant fire doors, contributing to consistent excellence and operational efficiency.

Job Purpose:

As a flexible Production Operative, you will provide vital support across different teams, stepping in during periods of high demand or staff absence. Your adaptability will help maintain seamless, consistent production output, ensuring key areas are supported whenever and wherever you are needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain multiple machines and workstations safely and efficiently
• Assemble products in line with technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
• Move between production areas as required to support the business’s needs
• Carry out quality checks on your own work and report any faults or defects
• Maintain clean, organised, and safe work areas across departments
• Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times
• Support colleagues and share knowledge to improve team performance
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiency

Experience:

Essential:

• Practical experience with handheld tools in a manufacturing setting
• Familiarity with operating CNC machinery or other production equipment
• Physical fitness. This is a hands-on role involving lifting and standing
• Proven ability to follow instructions and hit deadlines
• Experience working to high quality standards
• Good standard of written and spoken English to understand work orders, follow procedures, and communicate effectively with the team

Desirable:

• Experience with woodworking, carpentry, or timber-based manufacturing
• Previous work in a fast-paced factory or production environment

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and instructions
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Flexibility and adaptability to move between roles and production areas
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong teamworking ethic
• Awareness of Health & Safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills across production
